Mr Sean. T...EXCELLENT. That is all that I can say.

Mr Sean. The THD 1955 sites amreked on the map appear to be the same as the IAF Troposcatter sites. It would be nice if you could confirm the THD sites, preferably with coordinates.

Regards
KersiAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-165290376032593437.post-8557421904751204682010-09-19T10:20:07.304-04:002010-09-19T10:20:07.304-04:00Hi SOC,
You seem to have caught the IAF AD networ...Hi SOC,

You seem to have caught the IAF AD network in the midst of transition.

The IAF has already ordered, with deliveries underway, 37 DRDO Rohini radars (180km, 3D), 19 Thales GM-100 Low Level radars based on the GM-400 (180 km, AESA 3D), 15 Long Range Medium Power radars from Elta (200 Km+, likely AESA, 3D). It already has 2 Aerostat radars (long range, AESA, 3D, which are very well liked) and has ordered 4 more, out of a total requirement of 11, as the Indian Navy is also going to procure a few. The above are all confirmed orders.

Furthermore, trials were concluded this year of a new portable Light Weight Radar from DRDO for mountainous terrain, a gapfiller (60 Km, 3D). Should go into series production 2011 or 12. The IAF is also slated to receive 3 DRDO AEW &C beginning 2012, and is likely to order 3 more Phalcon AEW&C. There are other radars in development, including a Medium Power AESA by DRDO.

Furthermore, all SAM systems come with their own acquisition and fire control radars, so that will add to the IAF network.

All these are being networked as well.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/IAFs-digital-information-grid-to-become-operational-next-week/articleshow/6520713.cms

Based on that I'd wager the IAF would be a fairly comprehensive set ups, anywhere in the world, and one no longer hampered by potential concerns about age.

Your thoughts, welcome.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-165290376032593437.post-6732840821989352952010-09-19T05:18:42.108-04:002010-09-19T05:18:42.108-04:00No wonder, Pakistan Navy's Naval Air Arm Bregu...No wonder, Pakistan Navy's Naval Air Arm Breguet Atlantique patrol plane, carrying 16 Pakistani Naval Officers on board, was intercepted and shot down by an Indian air force Mig21 for violating airspace near Gujarat border.
